It is raining this morning, hopefully it will last till noonish. I should have known it would, I mowed and watered the lawn yesterday evening. Rain makes me happy,,,Creme,, now thats another story,he wants to go out on his balcony but refuses to risk getting his tootsies wet,,he might melt,so he sits and yowls and hisses at me because I don't make it stop, it has been raining for about three hours now so he gave up and is sleeping by the door. My hummingbirds have moved on,I did not see any yesterday. They are hormonally driven to migrate south, the sources I looked up say to leave your feeders out for a few weeeks just to help out any stragglers and there is one species that winters over in an area that we are on the northwestern fringe of, so I will keep one up till the first freeze. I keep a corn and nut mix out for the little creatures also during the winter.

There is an animal rescue facility just west of Hershey Pa. that is run by a RN, I have visited there several times during my stint with Siamese Rescue of Texas. It is located in a rather large geodesic dome structure which at one time was a residence, it also has several wings off the central structure. The Main area is mostly open with various runs and structures for animals to play or sleep on.There are also several areas that are penned in but attached to the house so the animals can go outside during good weather. It also has a kitchen and clinic area. The facility is run by one person but she is assisted by many volunteers that drive in from a far away as NYC and Pittburgh for a day. I took cats up there that were not adoptable for whatever reason and she would take them in as long as she had room. It seemed every time I went up there I got snowed in, you have to fly in to Harrisburg,Pa via O'Hare and then rent a car and drive up to Hershey,It was always an adventure to see when you could get out. At the facility they keep all kinds of non-aggressive animals, cats, squirrels, raccoons and rabbits mostly, dogs were ruled out due to thier nature and lack of runs.

Still raining, just a slow gentle rain, just what we needed, maybe the farmers can make anothere hay crop afterall. All for now, I have to go do my domestic duties, laundry, feed the critter etc.
Take Care
Steve

Do you ever catch the humming birds on camera? They are amazing creatures. To me seeing them is as special as seeing a falling star.

I would love to be snowed in in PA, or anywhere. I hate my weather and envy you the day of rain. Bless your heart for caring for the helpless ones. Tickle Creme for me and tell him that I am a female he would like.
